The staff of Universal Camping are not just your regular camp counselors.  The martial arts instructor is not just a guy who knows a little karate, he is a 9^th degree black belt.  The track coach is not just a runner but someone who has run 24 New York City marathons. The camp nurse is a registered nurse who works as an emergency and intensive care nurse.  The music teachers are professional musicians.  Most of the staff are full time teachers from Bay Ridge Preparatory School, a prestigious private academic institution in NYC. Many of the staff helped build the log cabins that make up Universal Camping

The Specialized staff is what makes this wonderful camping experience possible. In a unique staffing approach, we have employed only professionals in the field of education, professors, elementary and secondary school supervisor, artists, musicians, culinary experts, craftsmen, published writers, and performing arts instructors.  These professionals contribute their time because they believe that children best express their potential in good company and mature supervision.  The academics program offers a wide variety of tutoring and skill development in all elementary school subjects, and some selected high school subjects.  Also available, at additional cost, are high school courses for credit under the auspices of the renowned Bay Ridge Preparatory School.  The curriculum includes offerings such as Sequential mathematics, English Literature, Creative Writing, History, and Foreign Language (Spanish, Latin, and Ancient Greek).
